There are flowers in our garden
They will bloom all summer long
Changing colors through the season
While the winds blow sweet and warm

And your walnut tree is growing
It's sending branches way up high
And the roots, they run deep here
It's found a home and so have I

Well there is new grass in the hollow
Where we used to spend our time
Picking berries by the stream's side
In the afternoon sunshine

Where the robins sing their sweet song
The one that they have always known
And when I walk up to our hollow
I find my love for you has grown

Now the long war is finally over
The fighting's coming to an end
And a letter in my mailbox
Says you're coming home again

And our walnut tree is growing
It's growing tall for all to see
